last skiing trip

yes your are not mistaken, during the weekend I went to PA for the last skiing trip this season. Crazy, right? I know. However, the lifts were cheap and we had a free house in the woods to stay at, so we decided to go :) When you scroll down to see the pictures, you will not be surprised that we skied :) Here are some of the fun things we did and saw :)
We played Blokus- super fun, competitive game for all ages
Here it is up close
We had wine and cozy fire in the fireplace :)

We had a very nice company, among was Cocoa, one adorable Havanese

And some pictures of the surroundings :)
Yes, this is how spring looks at the time in PA.
huge lovely window in the house.

It was a very nice trip :) I just hope that next time we'll go, it's gonna be all nice, green and warm, and the snow will be gone :)

Funny memory: The guys were drinking some whiskey and so they got a lil tipsy. They were talking about some stuff and one of our friends asked another guy: "How old were you when you were born?" LOL I do not think he was fully sober when he asked that question, but we had a great laugh :)

excuse me, how much is it?

Warning: money talk and complaining zone!

Recently, I and my Lovely Boyfriend sat down and we looked at properties in NYC. No, we did not look at anything in the city (Manhattan), nor did we look anywhere in the boroughs since it is EXTREMELY expensive :( We decided to look in the suburbs, 40-60minutes drive, we thought "that it is ok, we can drive." But NO, NO, NO even there the prices are colossal. The properties are ok, ranging in 300 thousands, however who can afford $10,000 in taxes? Definitely we won't.
So then we thought; "that is ok, lets look at apartments, we can live in an apartment" But oh we were headed for another disappointment. Who wants to live in a tiny 500sq ft apartment for $300,000 plus taxes around $5,000? not me! great!
Looking at the prices we've got a serious reality check. We feel overwhelmed and sad. I feel like there is no hope and that I will need to work hard and wait at least 10years till I can afford my own place, and on top of that a person needs to live somewhere and unfortunately renting is also expensive. So how can one save enough money to buy something in the future? Maybe I should stop eating, buying clothes and move into a cardboard box under the bridge?

With tears in my eyes, feeling totally hopeless I started checking out other states and places where there are jobs etc. Out of simple interest, to see the difference between states I was checking out properties and how much are the living costs. All the research got me to Tampa, FL. Can you believe that according to salary.com, living in there is 42% cheaper than in NYC and although the salary might not be as big as in NYC, you need to earn $28,000 a year in order to be able to live the same quality of live in NYC that costs $50,000! what a difference! A nice house with few bedrooms, a backyard etc. starts at $100,000 unbelievable. We could go now and get a house with no problem. Crazy...

All of that made me think "maybe we should consider relocating?". I am not saying that we need to move to Tampa, FL. However, maybe we should just think about it? Maybe in a different state, if we could find jobs, we could have a nice, calm, affordable living, without worrying about saving money for the next decade?! After all , I always wanted to move out of NYC....

Suicidal wings

On Sunday we decided to head for Buffalo Cantina in Williamsburg to try the suicidal wings.

They were featured in Men vs. Food at National Geographic Channel so we wanted to explore. Their wings are extremely spicy. I had two bites and I thought that I am dying. They were so extremely spicy that I was sweating and crying at the same time.

Some of my friends managed to eat an entire wing, thumbs up for them as I have no idea how they managed. They also had delicious margaritas in funky cool glasses :)
Do you like spicy food? Have you ever tried something so extremely spicy?

baby love

On Saturday we had a 1st Birthday party of our friends'  baby :) There were two little girls and I just loved playing with them. Instead of sitting with the grown ups (like a normal person would) I was sitting with the babies :) I just love the little ones so much, I just can't help it. Cannot wait to have my own one day... :)

I also realized that it is not an easy task to take good pictures of the little ones, as they are constantly moving :)
Being around babies made me think again of having one of my own. I have been thinking about it for awhile now. WAIT Who am I kidding? I am thinking about it almost every-single-day! It is weird, since I am not married yet (but I have been with the same guy for 3,5 years and we have a good, stable relationship so do not get me wrong :P), I do not have a stable job and I am considerably young. There are so many things that I should want to explore and see, and I feel that I should not be thinking about having a baby the way I do. Although I cannot help it I know that probably it is not the time yet, and I need to wait.... ehhh :(

How did you feel about having babies before you had one? or how do you feel about having them in the future?

It feels good to shop

The weather in NYC is amazing. It is finally warm and sunny :) "Oh dear Miss Spring you have no idea how much I have missed you!! I am so happy your back". The beautiful weather made me realize that I am in need of some new jewelry and some new clothing :) I "totally randomly" stumbled upon Forever21 store website and I just could not resist the beauties they had and did some shopping. Here is some of the things I bought

I also got a black skirt and a nice white flowery  mini shoulder bag, but the pictures are no longer available (am I the one who emptied the stock?) but I will show you pictures as I got the things :)
I am very happy with my choices and I love the fact that I spend just 50$ for all of those lovelies!! isn't it just amazing? I cannot wait to see them :)

On Saturday our friends invited me and my LovelyBF for their daughter's first birthday. I already got some nice adorable baby clothes as a gift, as the baby's mother preferred clothing rather than toys. I cannot wait to go and see the little munchkin :) Stay tuned to see some pictures from the event :)

Are you noticing signs of spring in your area?  Does it make you smile?
Thank you for reading and
Have a wonderful weekend

Sharing New York

So I thought that I will share something pretty cool with you :) The subways in nyc are not the cleanest, nicest places you want to be at, however some stations hide these little gems, and I just love them :) Seeing the little guys just makes my everyday subway trip better :)

This telephone is one of my favorites :)

awww new york... :) Have you ever spotted anything like these in random places, either in nyc or in your town or somewhere else?
Thank your for reading :)

Confused society

Oh how many times have I been wondering about all the things that we are forced to do. Many times we do not even think about things we are doing, we just do them. We do not stop and wonder "Do I really want to? Do I really need that?" We do it because that is what society expects us to do.
Not so long ago, I was reading some article about homeschooling (sorry I do not remember the website) and the author of the article at the end stated something very important "When did we stop being Human Beings and when did we become Human Doings?" It is an amazing thing to say. This is what I feel people became. We just do , do and do more. Staying home to read a book and maybe learn something is not as appreciate as going to a yoga class etc. etc. We do people feel such an urge to impress others? I do not know... I think we are all confused about our priorities...
I am not perfect, I am far away from being perfect... however I know that I do want to live my life for ME! I do not want to do things against myself just to impress others. I might not always be able to do so, but I will try.

I have only one life, one chance, and I want to live it so some day I can say "I have been a good, happy person and I had a good life" That is all that really matters at the end :)

"my sunshine"

It was women's day on March 8th, however my Lovely Boyfriend being so busy just forgot, and I understood :) He just started off work at a new place so he is stressed as it is. I underestimated my Lovely Bf as he surprised me the very next day with these:

I love sunflowers :)
when I asked him:
-Why did you choose this combination of flowers? (As they are peachy roses and a sunflower)
- Because they are bright and sunny and you are my sunshine
Awww he made my day :) I know him and hearing something SO romantic from his own mouth was one of the best things I have heard in a looong time.

Once upon a time...

There was a girl born in Poland, who moved at a young age to New York City. Now she is about to graduate college and become a grown up and … she is kind of excited and scared about what life might bring. She loves to “save” the past in her diaries, and let me tell you she has a lot of them (one medium size box full of them is considered by me as a lot). However as the wonderful progress of technology is unstopping, she decided that it might be a good idea to stop cluttering The Box with more diaries, and use the wonderful internet and blogging to ‘save’ her ‘oh so interesting life’ J It might be a good idea since she has been addicted for a couple of years now to other people’s blogs (Oh thank you Google Reader for making the addiction so much more enjoyable). So let this little adventure begin…. And so we shall see … :o)
